The Lake Bike Ride

Event

Hoping that the good weather will hold we invite you to join us on a leisurely bike ride through some lovely countryside just outside the urban area of Lille. We will start form the Lille town centre, make our way through the suburbs to the Lac du Heron, continue around the Forest-sur-Marque, and circling the lake get back to the starting point. It will be an easy ride, suitable for all cycling abilities, of about 3h30 all together, with an hour for lunch break at some point. No time pressure of course, in case of a heron sighting or if a lovely view catches our attention we’ll stop to get a closer look.

Meeting Point

Meet us at 10:30am, in front of the Lille Zenith Arena, Blvd. Emile Dubuisson (map)

Lunch

Bring your own food for a luncheon on the grass.

Bike Rental

In case you don’t have a bike but would like one for a day there is a very affordable Bike Rental service at various points in Lille. Bikes can be reserved online, by phone or at the rental location. You will need to use your own bike lock though, which can be bought at any supermarket.
Rental tariffs at Transpole are reduced during the summer season to only 1€/day. Try to reserve your bike as soon as possible.
